In April 2017 Southern Snooker Ltd bought Chandlers Ford Snooker Club.

Southern Snooker was formed specifically to own and manage the long established but tired club. Ray Cooper – the new owner – stated that the club would still trade as Chandlers Ford Snooker Club and that it would focus on the core business of providing a venue in which to play and develop the sport of snooker.

Ray said, “The snooker club will focus on maintaining a relationship between customers and the club. This will be achieved by offering attractive activities, competitions and social events for the members and engaging them more fully and regularly in our snooker club.”

CLUB IMPROVEMENTS

Infrastructure

The snooker hall has recently benefitted from fresh carpets throughout and has had modern LED lighting fitted above each table. All ten tables have recently been fitted with Northern Tournament Rubbers and re-clothed in Strachan 6811 30 gold tournament cloth, the most popular tournament cloth in the world.  

The lounge has also seen a new carpet fitted, along with a new hard floor covering at the bar area. It has been redecorated, had new ceiling tiles fitted and new LED lighting installed. The bar now offers a good range of draught and bottled beers and ciders with a choice on alcohol-free options as well. There is a wide range of soft drinks, snacks and confectionary available.

Wall-mounted monitors now display competition results, club news and items of interest.

Hot snacks available from the bar include: cheese or plain burgers, southern fried chicken or hot and spicy chicken wraps or rolls, king rib rolls, jumbo hot dogs or sausage in a roll, steak or chicken pies, pulled pork wrap or roll, bacon roll, sausage in a roll, classic BLT, chips, and filled rolls.

The club sells new cue sets as well as accessories and offers a cue re-tip service.
